Welcome

We welcome members of the 'core-to-core' mixed-anion consortium to Oxford for the first face-to-face meeting for discussion of results and the exploration of new ideas.

Mixed-anion chemistry is becoming increasingly topical, driven partly by the discovery of the iron-based superconductors 15 years ago, but also by the promise of these compounds as, for example, photovoltaic materials, transparent conductors and thermoelectric materials. These compounds also offer new crystal structures, new magnetism and novel electronic and chemical properties.

The meeting, funded by an EPSRC grant will bring together all nodes of the consortium and hopefully lead to new collaborative directions. Talks and posters by both young and more experienced researchers will offer a range of perspectives on this Chemistry. There will also be opportunities for social interaction and informal discussions.

Please see the "Getting to Oxford" and "The Venue" tabs for information about travel and the meeting venue.
